With fall just around the corner, I’ve been searching Pinterest for some fun fine motor activities for my kiddos to work on.  I recently stumbled upon this tangled pumpkin craft and knew it would be perfect for my little ones!  What’s even better?  The directions are so simple and we already have everything we need to make it!  Yeah! =)

Painting Rainbows {{Kid’s Corner Friday}}

IMG_1047

My kids LOVE painting!  When one of the super creative kindergarten teachers at our school had her students complete this project, I knew I had to try it with my own kiddos!

Start off by dividing your cardstock or thick paper into six different sections.  If you look closely, you can see the lines I made for each section.

Using a permanent marker, draw your lines across the page.

Now mark your sections by color and by level it according to age if necessary.  For my 3 year old, I put color words.  For my two year old I added colored dots.

They had such a fun time with this project (especially since they got to paint in their jammies) and it was SO easy to put together!  What fun paint projects have you and your kiddos completed?  I don’t know about your kids, but I’m pretty sure mine could entertain themselves for hours with some paint and a few pieces of paper!

Hidden Picture Painting {{Craft for Kids}}

Artwork collage
My kids are finally getting old enough to understand arts and crafts…or maybe they’re just getting old enough to not make quite as big of a mess! =)  So, I’ve been busy creating different activities for them to do.

For this project, you’ll need:
  • Watercolor paint
  • Paintbrush
  • White Crayon
  • Tape
  • White cardstock
  • Coloring picture (since it’s close to Easter I printed Easter themed pictures) {{I searched online for “Easter coloring picture” and found these super cute ones to print.}}

Start by taping the the papers to the window (put the coloring picture underneath the cardstock).  Using a white crayon, trace the image on the coloring sheet.

Now it’s time to paint!  I tried to encourage my kiddos to use Easter colors but I’m not quite sure they followed that direction.  See what I get for trying to put a damper on their creativity! =)  They turned out cute even if they aren’t Easter colors and they had so much fun!  As for the hidden picture….they were so busy painting and mixing colors that they hardly noticed the hidden picture I created for them.
**By the way, have you noticed that my kids are still in their jammies?!?!  I tried to crop that out but you might as well know we were having a lazy Saturday!!!! =)  Staying in your pajamas is much more fun that getting dressed! **
